Winchester Model 1894 Lever Action Saddle Ring Carbine, #802808, .30 WCF (.30-30 CF) cal., blued 20'' round barrel, with block-blade front and dovetailed sliding-leaf rear sights, marked with maker's name, address and 1884 patent date, ''Nickel Steel Barrel/Especially For Smokeless Powder'' on left, and ''30 W.C.F.'' on left side; blued tubular magazine; steel receiver with left-side stud and sling ring, is marked ''Model 1894/Winchester/Trade Mark U.S. Pat. Off. & Fgn.'' on upper tang, and serial number at lower front; case hardened loop operating lever and hammer; oil-stained walnut stocks, forend with a single barrel band, buttstock with a steel carbine buttplate. Mfg'd ca. 1916. Condition is very good. Barrel and mag tube retain approx. 75% blue (with perhaps added cold-blue touch-up); receiver is polished bright; lever is dark, barrel band and buttplate are gunmetal gray-brown. Stocks are solid with light marks of age and use, and a later coat of varnish. Action is strong and smooth; bore is clean with deep rifling. Est.: $700-$1,000. (C&R)
